OLD TRAFFORD: Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday that Rafael Vara will leave the club in the summer when his contract expires after three seasons at Old Trafford.
The defender joined the club in August 2021 and made 93 appearances, including two goals.
The Frenchman was also part of the United team that won their first major trophy in six years when they lifted the 2023 Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium.
The centre-back after the 4-3 defeat by Chelsea on 4 April.
If Varane is fit again, the rest of the Premier League fixtures this season will see Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion before the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.
“Guys, Manchester United supporters, have had some great years playing for this special club and wearing that shirt,” Varane said.
When I went to Old Trafford for the first time as a Man United player, the atmosphere was incredible.
“I fell in love with the club, the fans. You have to play at Manchester United to understand what it means.
“This is home for my children. It will be a special place for me forever.
“When the fans go to Wembley, it’s a lifetime memory,” he said ahead of our latest visit to the national stadium on May 25 to face Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup final.
“To share that moment with them [winning the Carabao Cup last season] was fantastic.
“Despite the difficult season, the future is very positive. The new owners come with a clear plan and a good strategy.
