Islamabad: The federal government has appointed Raisa Adil, a BS-20 officer of the Information Group, as the Executive Director General/Principal Information Officer (PIO) of the Press Information Department (PID), Islamabad.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on July 9, 2026, Raisa Adil has been transferred from her current position as Executive Director General, External Publicity Wing, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and posted as Executive Director General/Principal Information Officer, PID.
The notification stated that the appointment has been made with immediate effect and until further orders.
Raisa Adil will assume charge of one of the key positions in Pakistan’s official media and government communication structure, responsible for coordinating media relations, official information dissemination and liaison between the government and news organizations.
The Press Information Department serves as the primary media coordination body of the federal government, facilitating official briefings, press releases and communication between ministries and the media.
