LAHORE, Tuesday, July 28, 2026: The Punjab government has approved financial assistance, residential houses and other benefits for the families of 14 police personnel martyred in the line of duty across the province.
The approvals were granted during a meeting on the Shuhada Package chaired by Punjab Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan at the Home Department in Lahore.
Punjab Home Secretary Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi, Additional Inspector General of Police Imran Arshad, Additional Secretary Police Kanwar Anwar Ali Khan, DIG Welfare Mehboob Rashid and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The approved assistance covers the families of police personnel from Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Rajanpur, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Sahiwal.
Package-1 Approved for Three Martyred Constables
Package-1 was approved for Constable Muhammad Shahbaz and Constable Muhammad Faheem, who were martyred in an attack on Dajal Check Post in Bhakkar, and Constable Muhammad Asad Naseer, who lost his life while fighting terrorists in Layyah.
Under Package-1, the family of a martyred constable will receive Rs10 million, a five-marla house and other prescribed benefits.
Package-2 Approved for Five Families
Package-2 was approved for the families of Sub-Inspector Shahid Pervaiz of Bahawalnagar, Sub-Inspector Amir Rizwan of Sargodha, Constable Muhammad Nasir of Rajanpur, Driver Constable Iftikhar Ahmad of Faisalabad and Constable Mirza Umar Aftab Baig of Gujrat.
Under the package, the family of a martyred constable will receive Rs4 million, a five-marla house and other benefits. The family of a martyred assistant sub-inspector will receive Rs5 million, a seven-marla house and additional entitlements.
Package-3 Extended to Six Families
Package-3 was approved for the families of Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zaman Zia, Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Bashir and Constable Muhammad Waris of Bahawalnagar, Constable Muhammad Bismillah of Dera Ghazi Khan, Constable Muhammad Ramzan of Rahim Yar Khan and Constable Tahir-ul-Zaman Siddiqui of Sahiwal.
Under Package-3, the family of a martyred constable will receive Rs3.5 million and other benefits, while the families of martyred assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors will receive Rs4 million along with the prescribed assistance.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan directed officials to ensure that all financial dues, housing facilities and other benefits were delivered without unnecessary delay.
He said the welfare of martyrs’ families remained the responsibility of the Punjab government and warned that negligence in processing their cases would not be tolerated.
The minister also paid tribute to the police personnel who lost their lives while protecting citizens and maintaining law and order, describing them as national heroes whose sacrifices would be remembered.
He added that those responsible for attacks on police personnel would be brought to justice under the law and that action against militant and anti-state elements would continue.
