The Punjab Bar Council has summoned two lawyers in connection with applications seeking the suspension of their legal licences amid an ongoing dispute involving actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N lawmaker Saqib Chadhar.
According to officials, advocate Rimsha Iqbal and advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq have been directed to appear before the Punjab Bar Council on Wednesday at 10:30am.
The notices were issued by Abbas Chadhar, who heads the council’s disciplinary committee.
Applications filed against both lawyers
The Punjab Bar Council said it has received separate applications seeking the suspension of the licences of both lawyers.
According to the council, Rimsha Iqbal has filed an application seeking disciplinary action against Mian Ali Ashfaq, while local lawyer Asif Wali has submitted an application requesting the suspension of Rimsha Iqbal’s licence.
The disciplinary committee is expected to review the applications and hear the positions of both parties during the scheduled appearance.
Matter linked to ongoing dispute
The latest development stems from the broader controversy involving Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadhar, which has generated legal proceedings and public attention in recent weeks.
No decision has yet been announced regarding the applications, and the matter remains under consideration by the Punjab Bar Council.
