LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has approved recruitment for 171 vacant posts of Junior Computer Operator (Grade 12) in the Punjab Prisons Department to strengthen its digital and IT services, officials said.

The decision was taken after the Punjab Home Department submitted a summary to the provincial government, seeking approval to fill the positions in order to improve operational efficiency and data management within the department.

According to officials, the recruitment process will be conducted through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), which is expected to issue a formal advertisement for the vacancies in the coming days.

Candidates will be selected through a written examination followed by other stages of the recruitment process as per PPSC procedures. Applications will be submitted online through the commission’s official website.

Authorities said the hiring process will be carried out on merit and with transparency, with the aim of enhancing IT capacity and supporting ongoing digitisation efforts in the prisons department.
