ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan, has launched a tree plantation drive in Islamabad under the “Plant for Pakistan” initiative as part of its Independence Day campaign, Pakistan Jitna Jawan.
The plantation activity was held at the PTCL Training Academy in Islamabad, bringing together senior management, employees and representatives from both organizations.
Nadeem Khan, CEO PTCL, and Rab Nawaz, Senior Director Programmes at WWF-Pakistan, took part in the drive alongside executive teams and PTCL employees.
The initiative is aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and encouraging practical action toward a cleaner, greener and more climate-resilient Pakistan.
PTCL said the campaign forms part of its broader sustainability agenda, which includes efforts to reduce its environmental footprint and work toward long-term net-zero carbon emissions.
The company added that tree plantation is one of several measures intended to support climate resilience and environmental protection while strengthening awareness among employees and communities.
The drive also ties into PTCL’s Pakistan Jitna Jawan Independence Day campaign, which focuses on celebrating the country’s resilience, progress and potential.
Through the campaign, PTCL is highlighting the role of sustainability alongside connectivity, innovation and national development.
The company said the plantation activity reflects the idea that building a stronger Pakistan requires not only technological and economic progress, but also collective responsibility to protect the environment.
