ISLAMABAD, May 20, 2026: PTCL and Ufone have achieved PCI DSS v4.0.1 certification for 2026, strengthening their systems for secure payment card data handling and digital transaction security.
The certification is relevant for customers using digital payment services, as it confirms that the companies’ cardholder data environment and cloud infrastructure were assessed against international payment security standards.
According to a press release, the certification was awarded by Risk Associates, a PCI Qualified Security Assessor, after an independent assessment of PTCL and Ufone’s cloud infrastructure and cardholder data environment.
The PCI DSS v4.0.1 certification validates security controls designed to reduce risks linked to data breaches, fraud and unauthorized access.
Jafar Khalid, Chief Technology and Information Officer at PTCL and Ufone, said the certification reflected the companies’ focus on global security standards and protection of sensitive customer information.
Kashif Hassan, Managing Director of Risk Associates, said PTCL and Ufone showed strong alignment with PCI DSS v4.0.1 requirements through mature cloud infrastructure and secure data handling practices.
The companies said the certification supports their commitment to secure, compliant and resilient digital services across Pakistan.
