Muzaffarabad: A protest demonstration was held against Indian armed forces for Human Rights violations in Occupied Kashmir by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of International Human Rights Day,
According to the details, a large number of women, elders and youth were present who waved black flags and chanted slogans against the Indian government and its worst violations of human rights in Occupied Kashmir.
The Kashmiri protesters carried banners and placards demanding the United Nations and international human rights organizations to take action against Indian oppression in Kashmir.
Speakers on the occasion said that it is a matter of concern for the world that 13 million people living in Occupied Kashmir have been locked in a siege by Indian soldiers since August 5, 2019, and the entire occupied state has been turned into a prison.
Speakers said that India is violating all basic human, political, social and religious rights of Kashmiri people in the guise of so-called democracy.
They said that since 1989, the Indian Army has martyred more than two hundred thousand Kashmiri citizens, including children, women, elderly and youth.
Speakers further said that the Indian Army has kept more than 9500 Kashmiri citizens missing for many years. Thousands of them have been martyred in torture camps and buried in anonymous graves.
They explained that due to Indian terrorism in Occupied Kashmir, more than 120,000 children have become orphans and 24,000 women have become widows.
Speakers said that 2700 Kashmiri women are forced to live a life of semi-widows due to the violent actions and cruelty of Indian soldiers.
Speakers said that the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government is committing genocide against the Muslim majority by killing Kashmiri youth in fake encounters in a planned manner.
“Civil liberties are being trampled by the implementation of black laws like POTA, TADA, UAPA, AFSPA, PSA in Occupied Kashmir”, they added.
The speakers demanded the United Nations to play its role for a just solution to the Kashmir issue.
They demanded the international human rights organizations, Amnesty International and Asia Watch to put pressure on the Indian government to release the Kashmiri prisoners imprisoned in Indian jails.
Kashmiri leaders said that it is the responsibility of the world to take notice of the occupation of state and citizens’ lands, confiscation and demolition of properties in Occupied Kashmir. Organized by Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, protestors protested and held a rally in the capital on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.
