Abdul Ghaffar Mansoor, President of Central Muslim League Malakand Division, Haji Mahboob Zada, President of Centeral Muslim League Lower Dir District, and Muhammad Yaseen, General Secretary of Central Muslim League Lower Dir District, said in a joint statement that the services of Professor Abdul Rehman Makki (may Allah have mercy on him) will always be remembered.
He was a great religious scholar of Pakistan, a proponent of the revival of the Ideology of Pakistan, and a strong voice for oppressed Kashmiris and Palestinians. Professor Abdul Rehman Makki was the brother-in-law of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed. His father, Professor Hafiz Abdullah Bahawalpuri, was a trusted companion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and a student leader of the All India Muslim League. Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki graduated from Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah and was proficient in Arabic and English. He was a prominent voice in Pakistan against religious extremism, the Fitna of the Khawarij, and in support of oppressed Kashmiri and Palestinian Muslims. Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki faced false propaganda by India due to his support for oppressed Kashmiris.
He was a leader of various movements in Pakistan, including the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat Movement, Defence of Pakistan Council, Tahreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool (PBUH), and the Kashmir Freedom Movement. In Lower Dir District, absentee funeral prayers for him will be offered in many mosques on Friday.
