ISLAMABAD: A total of 11,600 pilgrims have completed bookings under Pakistan’s private Hajj scheme, while around 60,000 seats remain available, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The ministry’s spokesperson said registered Hajj organisers are offering economy, standard and premium packages through the official Hajj Portal. The online system is being used for bookings and payments under the private Hajj scheme.
Rs10 billion received through Hajj Portal
According to the ministry, payments amounting to Rs10 billion have been received in the accounts of 25 registered organisers through the Hajj Portal.
More than Rs4 billion of the total amount has been deposited online through the Hajj Portal developed by the National IT Board.
Ministry warns pilgrims against unauthorised payments
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised intending pilgrims to use only the Pak Hajj App or Hajj Portal for payment of Hajj dues.
Pilgrims have also been cautioned against making direct payments to unauthorised individuals or companies.
According to the ministry spokesperson, bookings under the private Hajj scheme will remain open until November 20, subject to availability of seats.
