ISLAMABAD, Monday, September 21, 2026: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief over the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, younger brother of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In a condolence message shared on social media platform X on Monday, President Zardari extended his heartfelt sympathies to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the bereaved Al Maktoum family.
The president prayed for the departed soul and for patience and strength for the grieving family.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum died on Monday at the age of 76. Dubai announced 10 days of official mourning following his death, with flags to be flown at half-mast across the emirate.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief over Sheikh Ahmed’s death, paying tribute to his services to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Ahmed was a senior member of Dubai’s ruling family and held prominent roles in the emirate’s public security, business and sports sectors.
