HASSAN ABDAL: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) organised a prayer ceremony at the party secretariat, Dera Dr Sikandar Hayat Khan, in Hassan Abdal to mark the death anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, who is remembered by party workers as the “Mother of Democracy.”
Sardar Zulfiqar Hayat Khan, advocate and a candidate for the Punjab Assembly constituency PP-2, addressed the gathering and paid tribute to Nusrat Bhutto for her political struggle and sacrifices for democracy.
Party office-bearers, workers and supporters attended the ceremony and offered prayers for the late PPP leader.
The gathering also served as an occasion for party members to recall Nusrat Bhutto’s role in Pakistan’s political history and her association with the struggle for democratic rights.
