Tarbela: Elderly Man Allegedly Assaulted by Police Officer Assigned to Chinese Security; Victim in Critical Condition

A police officer assigned to the security of Chinese personnel in the jurisdiction of Ghazi Police Station has allegedly assaulted an elderly resident of Salam Khund, Muhammad Rafiq. According to reports, the elderly man was subjected to a brutal public assault in Ghazi Bazaar for unknown reasons. The attack resulted in a fractured jaw and severe injuries. Onlookers at the scene provided immediate assistance and transported him to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment.

As soon as news of the incident went viral on social media, DIG Hazara, Nasir Mehmood Satti, took immediate notice and suspended the accused police officer, SSU Constable Ilyas (Driver). Additionally, he directed DPO Haripur, Farhan Khan, to conduct a transparent inquiry into the matter.

The police department has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, emphasizing that no officer will be allowed to misuse their authority.
