Islamabad: Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan on Wednesday informed the Islamabad High Court about Kashmiri poet Ahmed Farhad.
The AGP disclosed this information while hearing a petition seeking the reinstatement of the poet.
Farhad’s wife, Urooj Zainab, who moved the IHC on May 15, is seeking her husband’s recovery and wants those responsible for the loss to be identified, investigated and brought to justice.
The report of Dhirkot Kashmir police station was also submitted to the court.
It is said that Farhad, who is known as prose prose, was abducted from his home on May 14.
During the court hearing on May 21, AGP Awan assured the court about the rescue and rehabilitation of the poet according to the order of the IHC.
“We will do anything. We will save and rehabilitate [Farhad],” the AGP said as he approached the IHC judge and took charge of the case.
During the hearing, Justice Kayani directed the AGP to ensure that “nothing is taken from Islamabad”.
“If a person is not rehabilitated, it will be a failure of the state,” the judge said.
AGP Awan responded to these words and asked for time to ensure the poet’s recovery.
