A ceremony to distribute scholarship cheques under the Prime Minister Pakistan Education Endowment Fund was held at Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

A total of 38 scholarships worth Rs3.899 million were distributed among deserving and talented students during the ceremony.

The event was attended by Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts Principal Professor Fazal Sattar Durrani, Asfandyar Affendi, Shahid Ahmed and Financial Aid Office representative Ijaz Khan.

Speakers said the Prime Minister Pakistan Education Endowment Fund aims to support students who face financial difficulties in pursuing higher education. They said the programme helps deserving students continue their academic activities without interruption.

In his message, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Jamil Ahmed said students are a valuable asset for any nation and investment in their education is an investment in the country’s future.

He said initiatives such as PMEEF provide hope to talented and deserving students by giving them the opportunity to continue their studies despite financial challenges.

Dr Jamil Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the Government of Pakistan and the fund administration. He urged students to make full use of the opportunity, focus on their education and contribute to the development of the country.
