PM invites increased UAE investments in key sectors to enhancing economic ties

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday met Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, at the Prime Minister House to discuss bilateral relations, trade, and investment cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

UAE investment priorities discussed during Islamabad meeting

During the meeting, the prime minister congratulated Ambassador Al Zaabi on his appointment and conveyed greetings for the UAE leadership. He also referred to the expected visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to Pakistan.

Diplomatic engagement and upcoming leadership visit

The prime minister reviewed the current volume of bilateral trade and stressed the need to expand economic engagement. He identified energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation as areas with potential for further cooperation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited greater investment from the brotherly nation in key sectors, noting its relevance to Pakistan’s economic growth. He also referred to the UAE’s role in humanitarian and development assistance.

Ambassador outlines future cooperation plans

Ambassador Al Zaabi thanked the prime minister for the meeting and conveyed messages from the UAE leadership. He said the UAE intends to explore new avenues of cooperation with Pakistan across multiple sectors.
