Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday vowed to tighten the noose around human traffickers.
Expressing his thoughts, the Prime Minister said, “Strict action will be taken against FIA officers who were involved in people smuggling.”
“The laziness has become apparent after the recent tragedy that happened in connection with human trafficking,” the prime minister said.
The prime minister ordered to submit solid proposals by immediately completing the investigation in line with human trafficking.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Shehbaz directed authorities to take strictest action against traffickers.
According to details, the prime minister chaired a high-level meeting on human trafficking following yet another tragic incident involving Pakistani victims. On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed anger over the lack of implementation of his previous orders regarding the 2023 ship accident.
Prime Minister Shehbaz demanded details of Pakistani deaths due to human trafficking over the past year and ordered action against officers responsible for delays in court proceedings.
Briefing the Prime Minister, officials revealed that 174 cases have been brought to court so far, resulting in convictions in only four instances.
Prime Minister Shehbaz criticized the slow pace of action and called the repeated incidents a grim reminder of the problem.
Referring to the 2023 ship tragedy in Greece in which more than 250 Pakistanis lost their lives, he termed it a national shame and reiterated the need for strong action to prevent such crimes.
Authorities were ordered to cooperate with international organizations and intensify public awareness campaigns.
