ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday inaugurated the F-8 underpass – completed in a record 42 days – to ease traffic flow on two major arteries of the federal capital, Jinnah Avenue and 9th Avenue.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the F-8 underpass flanked by Ministers Senator Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Attaullah Tarar, members of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Prime Minister said it was an auspicious moment that the underpass had been successfully completed. within 42 days of the laying of its foundation stone.
The PM also thanked CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, his team and the contractor for achieving the unusual milestone.
The Prime Minister expressed the hope that the newly constructed underpass will help facilitate traffic in the metropolis and that the civic agency will also complete the Serena Chowk underpass in a similar manner. He also appreciated the Islamabad Traffic Police for maintaining smooth flow of traffic at the project site.
He said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, the CDA would set up a nursery by March next year to provide cheap and quality plants to the residents of the capital.
He acknowledged that the ICT Traffic Police played a key role in maintaining vehicular traffic at the project site.
