PESHAWAR: Dengue cases are showing an upward trend in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the weather changes, with 163 new confirmed cases reported across the province during the past week.
According to the provincial Health Department, the total number of confirmed dengue cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached 1,690 this year. A total of 1,454 suspected cases were also reported during the week.
Kohat remains the most affected district, recording 1,023 confirmed cases. Peshawar ranks second with 316 confirmed cases.
Despite the rise in infections, no death from dengue has been reported in the province so far this year.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation as seasonal changes create conditions that can contribute to the spread of dengue mosquitoes. Residents are advised to take preventive measures and avoid stagnant water around homes and other premises.
