Nowshehra — The establishment of a dedicated PESCO Division and a Revenue Office in Pabbi has been formally approved, marking a major administrative and service delivery milestone for residents of Tehsil Pabbi. The approval was granted during a joint meeting of PESCO Islamabad and PESCO Peshawar on the special directives of Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam.
With the creation of the new PESCO Division, all four electricity sub-divisions of Tehsil Pabbi will now operate under a single divisional framework, while a separate Revenue Office will also be set up within the city. This development will eliminate the need for residents to travel to Nowshehra for electricity-related matters, as all essential PESCO services will now be available locally.
The announcement was made by Pakistan Muslim League-N leader and former senior bureaucrat Malik Khushdil Khan while addressing a press conference at the Tehsil Press Club Pabbi. Social activist Daniyal Talib and President of Tehsil Press Club Pabbi Muhammad Ilyas were also present on the occasion.
Malik Khushdil Khan stated that the load-shedding mechanism across all four sub-divisions of Tehsil Pabbi is being comprehensively revised to ensure improved electricity management and fair distribution. On the directives of the PESCO Chief Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a high-level meeting was convened at the Executive Engineer (XEN) Nowshera office, where a structured mechanism is being finalized to address long-standing electricity-related issues in the tehsil.
Responding to persistent demands from the local trader community, he announced the approval of a separate electricity feeder for Pabbi Bazaar, Sheikh Shehbaz Baba Road, Pabbi Railway Station, and Tehsil Courts Pabbi. The move is expected to significantly reduce power disruptions and provide relief to commercial activities in these key areas.
He further said that faulty transformers will be replaced immediately, while incidents of transformer theft will be dealt with strictly. FIRs will be registered with the cooperation of local police to complete legal documentation, ensuring the timely provision of replacement transformers by PESCO. Full cooperation will also be extended to WAPDA recovery teams for the recovery of outstanding electricity dues.
In addition, Malik Khushdil Khan announced that volunteer committees will soon be formed at the village level to coordinate with PESCO officials and facilitate the swift resolution of public grievances. He termed the approval of the PESCO Division and Revenue Office as a “historic step” towards improving public service delivery and strengthening institutional responsiveness in Tehsil Pabbi.
