Muzaffarabad: Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali has said that people of Kashmir pay tribute to the brave struggle of Junaid Ahmad Sehrai on his 4th martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that Sehrai got martyrdom on May 19, 2020 during his legitimate struggle for the defense of the Islamic state and for the freedom of his oppressed nation.
He said that Junaid Sahrai Shaheed had handled the command of the military movement in the Kashmir Valley under the most difficult conditions.
He was a talented, capable and obedient son of his brave and fearless father Ashraf Sahrai Shaheed who resisted with Indian armed forces fiercely without caring about the circumstances.
Uzair named Junaid Sehrai as an invaluable mujahid(warrior) of Islam and resistance movement besides described him as the savior of the Kashmiri people.
He said that every Kashmiri leader who showed bravery against India for the freedom of his homeland has remained the center of hopes for the Kashmiri people.
“State of Jammu and Kashmir will be freed from the tyrannical rule of India before long”, he hoped.
He also paid tribute to the determination of the Kashmiri people, saying that due to their continuous struggle, India will have to leave its illegal occupation on Jammu and Kashmir.
Junaid was a commander of the largest Kashmiri militant group Hizbul Mujahideen and the son of a top Hurriyat leader Ashraf Sehrai.
