The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended domestic cricketer Hamza Nazar from all national and international cricket activities for two years after finding that he concealed information and submitted misleading details during a foreign visa application process.
In a statement, the PCB also announced a Rs1 million fine, saying the disciplinary action followed the recommendations of a committee that investigated the matter.
PCB Disciplinary Committee Decision
According to the PCB, the disciplinary committee concluded that Hamza Nazar had withheld material facts and provided misleading information while applying for a foreign visa.
The board said such conduct violates the professional standards expected of players representing Pakistan cricket.
Three-Member Committee Conducted Inquiry
The PCB stated that a three-member inquiry committee reviewed the available evidence and heard Hamza Nazar’s position before submitting its recommendations.
The disciplinary action was taken based on the committee’s findings.
PCB Stresses Zero Tolerance
The PCB said it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward misrepresentation and the concealment of facts, adding that such actions damage the reputation and integrity of Pakistan cricket.
The board emphasized that disciplinary measures are necessary to uphold professional and ethical standards within the sport.
