PCB chairman meets national players, explains stance on ICC T20 World Cup

Lahore: National cricket team players met Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, in Lahore on Monday. During the meeting, he explained the board’s position on the ICC T20 World Cup and recent developments related to the event.

Mohsin Naqvi said the PCB had taken a principled position on matters linked to the World Cup. He said Pakistan rejected what it called double standards by the International Cricket Council. He added that the PCB supported the stance of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, saying it was in line with the basic principles of cricket.

The PCB chairman also wished the team well for the upcoming Pak-Australia T20 series. He said the board would follow and implement whatever decision the government makes about Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup.

Officials said the players showed full support for the PCB’s position and said they stood united with the board on the issue.

The meeting was attended by head coach Mike Hesson, team manager Naveed Akram Cheema, Aqib Javed, the PCB chief operating officer, directors from the media and commercial departments, and other senior officials.
