PESHAWAR: China Window has launched a new Pashto song to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations, highlighting cultural ties and people-to-people friendship between the two countries.
The launch ceremony was held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad. Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati attended as chief guest, while Chinese Cultural Consul Chen Peng participated as special guest.
China Window Administrator Amjad Aziz Malik said the song was an effort to express Pakistan-China friendship through music and culture. He said the Pashto composition carries the message that friendship goes beyond borders, geography and language.
He said the song uses the style of romantic poetry, but its deeper meaning reflects the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chen Peng said Pakistan-China friendship is based on mutual trust, respect and sincerity. He said both countries have stood by each other during difficult times and will continue to expand cooperation in economy, trade, science, education and culture.
Chen Peng described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as a major project of practical cooperation that has contributed to Pakistan’s development. He also appreciated China Window for producing and releasing the Pashto song.
Babar Saleem Swati said Pakistan-China friendship has stood the test of time for 75 years and continues to grow stronger. He said CPEC represents a shared vision of development, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa holding an important position in the initiative.
The speaker also highlighted parliamentary diplomacy and referred to his recent visit to Kashgar and Urumqi, where discussions were held on trade, tourism, education and cultural exchanges.
He said progress was also being made on sister-city relations between Peshawar and Urumqi, and between Abbottabad and Kashgar.
Babar Saleem Swati praised China Window’s cultural initiatives and said music, literature and the arts can help promote understanding between the people of Pakistan and China.
He also paid tribute to poet Professor Dr Abaseen Yousafzai and singers Dr Irfan Khalil and Yamsa Noor for their contributions to the project.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative souvenirs to guests and a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship.
