Pakistan is set to host its first-ever Pakistan Influencer Awards (PIA), creating a dedicated platform to recognize the work of content creators and social media influencers across the country.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 7, with creators competing across more than 30 categories. Unlike traditional awards, the final winners will be selected through public voting, giving audiences the final say in deciding which creators take home the honours.
Awards to Cover More Than 30 Categories
The ceremony will be hosted by Amtal Bawija and Fahad Tariq, who gained popularity through the vlog “Patangir.”
Bawija said on Instagram that she has been associated with the digital sector for the past eight years and never expected that she would eventually host Pakistan’s first influencer awards while representing the country’s digital creator community.
Organizers said the initiative aims not only to recognize established influencers but also to provide a more structured direction to Pakistan’s growing content creator industry.
Categories will include Creator of the Year and Emerging Creator, alongside awards covering fashion, tourism, beauty, lifestyle, fitness, gaming, music, parenting and entertainment.
Creators active on platforms including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok will be considered for the awards.
Multi-Stage Selection Process
Organizers have introduced a multi-stage process to select the nominees and finalists.
Initially, 20 creators in each category will be shortlisted with the assistance of an algorithm. The results will then be reviewed through market research.
A jury comprising established content creators will subsequently select 10 nominees from each category for the next stage.
In the second round, a jury consisting of professionals from the marketing and advertising industries will select five finalists from the 10 shortlisted candidates.
The final decision, however, will rest with the public. Online voting is scheduled to begin in October, allowing audiences to vote for their preferred creator.
Aiming to Strengthen Pakistan’s Creator Economy
At an event on July 27, the awards’ Chief Curator Talha Aslam said the initiative was intended to promote a healthy and competitive environment in which Pakistan’s content industry could develop according to international standards.
Organizers said millions of young Pakistanis are increasingly treating social media not simply as entertainment but as a potential profession and career. They believe formal recognition and healthy competition could encourage higher-quality content and support emerging talent.
The awards are also expected to highlight Pakistan’s expanding digital economy and the growing influence of local creators across social media platforms.
With public voting determining the eventual winners, the Pakistan Influencer Awards will give audiences a direct role in recognizing the country’s most popular and influential digital creators.
