Indian broadcaster Sun TV Network was reportedly hacked on Thursday, temporarily disrupting the transmission of some of its television channels and replacing parts of the broadcast with a banner showing the Pakistani flag.
According to media reports, the cyberattack affected the network’s internal broadcast management portal, allowing unidentified hackers to interfere with the on-air feed. The incident led to temporary changes in programming across multiple Sun TV channels.
The disruption was described as brief, but it raised concerns about the security of broadcast systems and the vulnerability of television networks to cyber intrusions.
Sun TV Network is one of India’s major media groups, operating several regional entertainment and news channels. Authorities and technical teams were expected to review the breach and restore normal broadcast controls.
No immediate official statement from Sun TV Network was cited in the initial reports. The identity of the hackers and the full extent of the breach remained unclear.
