Pakistan to Face India in Pro Hockey League Without Key Players

Pakistan will face India in the Pro Hockey League match in London on Monday, with the national side entering the fixture without two of its important players, Sufyan Khan and Hanan Shahid.

The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30pm Pakistan Standard Time. The absence of penalty corner specialist Sufyan Khan and main striker Hanan Shahid has raised concerns over Pakistan’s attacking strength and set-piece options.

Pakistan and India last met on October 14, 2025, in the Sultan of Johor Cup, where the match ended in a 3-3 draw. Hanan Shahid scored once in that game, while Sufyan Khan netted twice.

Both players are not part of the current squad due to fitness issues. Their absence has been visible in Pakistan’s recent performances, particularly in the forward line and penalty corner department.

During Pakistan’s Pro League matches in Belgium against Belgium and Spain, the team struggled to build pressure inside the opposition circle and create consistent attacks in the D. As a result, Pakistan also earned fewer penalty corners.

Team officials are hopeful that Hanan Shahid and Sufyan Khan, both considered key figures in Pakistan’s structure, will recover in time and be available for the World Cup.
