ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced that preparations for Hajj 2027 will begin immediately in accordance with directives issued by Saudi authorities, with mandatory registration for intending pilgrims set to start later this month.

The announcement is significant for thousands of Pakistanis planning to perform Hajj in 2027, as registration will be a mandatory requirement for participation under both the government and private Hajj schemes.

Registration to Begin This Month

Speaking to Radio Pakistan from Madinah, Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt said the registration process for Hajj 2027 would commence later in June.

He urged intending pilgrims to prepare the necessary travel documents in advance to avoid delays during the registration process.

Passport Validity Requirement Announced

According to the ministry, one of the key eligibility requirements for registration is possession of a valid Pakistani passport.

Officials said passports must remain valid until at least November 16, 2027, for applicants seeking to perform Hajj under Pakistan’s quota.

The spokesperson added that overseas Pakistanis intending to perform Hajj through Pakistan’s allocated quota will also be required to complete the registration process.

Pilgrims Can Choose Government or Private Scheme

After registration, applicants will have the option to select either the government Hajj scheme or a private Hajj tour operator.

The Ministry clarified that the final cost of Hajj packages, installment plans, and other terms and conditions will be announced separately under the Hajj Policy 2027.

Ministry to Provide Further Updates

Muhammad Umar Butt said intending pilgrims should follow updates issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony for detailed information regarding registration procedures and Hajj arrangements.

The ministry is expected to release additional details regarding package costs, payment schedules, and policy guidelines in the coming months.
