ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Philippines have discussed ways to expand tourism cooperation, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts, with both sides exploring opportunities for closer engagement in areas of mutual interest.
Chairman Al-Sadat Group Sadat Hussain Shah met Philippine Ambassador Dr Emmanuel R. Fernandez at the Philippine Embassy in Islamabad, where the discussions focused on strengthening tourism links between the two countries.
During the meeting, Sadat Hussain Shah said there was significant scope to promote mutual tourism by highlighting the cultural heritage, natural attractions and tourism potential of both Pakistan and the Philippines.
He said stronger tourism cooperation could help deepen people-to-people relations and create new opportunities for interaction between the citizens of the two countries.
Sadat Hussain Shah also highlighted the role of the private sector in promoting bilateral tourism and said businesses could contribute to initiatives aimed at increasing travel, cultural exchange and direct engagement.
He expressed willingness to support efforts designed to strengthen tourism ties between Pakistan and the Philippines.
The meeting also covered possible joint initiatives, exchange of experience in the tourism sector and measures to build stronger links between the people of the two countries.
Both sides expressed interest in exploring further opportunities for cooperation in tourism and other areas of mutual interest.
