ISLAMABAD, Feb 28, 2026 — Pakistan’s security forces have launched Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, carrying out ground and air operations in response to what officials described as unprovoked aggression along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The development was confirmed by security sources on Saturday morning.

According to the sources, the Pakistan Air Force conducted a strike in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province, targeting what was described as an Afghan military brigade headquarters. The facility was reported destroyed in the operation.

Cross-border tensions escalate

Security officials said the operation followed recent hostilities along the Pak-Afghan border. They alleged that Afghan Taliban forces initiated aggression without provocation, prompting Pakistan to respond with coordinated military action.
