KARACHI, Sunday, September 20, 2026: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited Pakistan Navy units deployed at sea and in the Creeks Area to review Exercise SEASPARK 2026, a major biennial maritime exercise focused on operational readiness and full-spectrum naval operations.
The exercise, underway since September 1, is designed to test the Pakistan Navy’s ability to shift rapidly from peacetime deployments to wartime operations while conducting missions across different maritime domains, according to the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy).
This year’s exercise places particular emphasis on multi-domain operations, unmanned systems and operations in the information environment, reflecting changes in contemporary maritime warfare.
SEASPARK 2026 tests full-spectrum maritime operations
Exercise SEASPARK is held every two years to rehearse a broad range of maritime operations and assess the Navy’s preparedness under different operational scenarios.
According to the Pakistan Navy, SEASPARK 2026 is being conducted under the overarching framework of Operations in Information Environment, or OIEs.
The exercise also incorporates multi-domain operations and extensive deployment of unmanned systems, which the Navy described as key features of this year’s drills.
The approach is intended to test coordination across different operational domains while assessing the use of emerging technologies in maritime operations.
Naval chief interacts with participating personnel
During his visits, Admiral Naveed Ashraf interacted with officers and personnel taking part in the exercise and reviewed their operational preparedness.
The Naval Chief expressed satisfaction with the professional standards, morale and operational readiness of participating personnel, according to the Navy’s statement.
Exercise SEASPARK 2026 forms part of the Pakistan Navy’s regular operational training cycle and provides an opportunity to evaluate its preparedness, coordination and response capabilities in simulated maritime scenarios.
