Heartbreak-themed music saw a sharp rise in popularity on Valentine’s Day in Pakistan, with new data from Spotify showing a nearly 190% increase in streams in 2025 compared to 2023.
According to the platform’s figures, men accounted for 66% of heartbreak music listening in Pakistan during the Valentine’s Day period, while more than half of all streams came from users aged 18 to 24. The data indicates that younger listeners, particularly Gen Z, are driving the trend.
The spike suggests that for many Pakistani listeners, Valentine’s Day is not only associated with romance but also with navigating emotional challenges, with music serving as a primary outlet.
