ISLAMABAD: More than 340,000 Pakistanis have completed online registration for Hajj between 2027 and 2030 under the government’s newly introduced multi-year pilgrimage system, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.

The registration framework allows intending pilgrims to register once and select any Hajj year from 2027 to 2030, removing the need to repeat the initial registration process every year.

According to a ministry spokesperson, around 246,000 applicants have selected the government Hajj scheme, while about 94,000 have opted for the private scheme.

The figures indicate strong early interest in the new system, which forms part of Pakistan’s first four-year Hajj Policy and Plan covering the 2027–2030 period.

The federal cabinet approved the policy earlier this month to improve advance planning, operational efficiency and convenience for intending pilgrims.

Under the policy, registration does not automatically confirm a pilgrim’s selection or seat for a particular year. Applicants will still be required to complete the relevant payment, documentation and application requirements when arrangements for their chosen Hajj year are announced.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has made free registration available through its online Hajj Management System, allowing applicants to submit their details from home.

Punjab recorded the highest number of registrations, with around 156,000 applicants. Sindh accounted for about 100,000 registrations, while approximately 51,000 applications were received from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to official figures reported by state media.

The government says the multi-year system will help authorities estimate future demand earlier, improve coordination with Saudi officials and plan accommodation, transportation, flights and other services for Pakistani pilgrims.

It may also give applicants greater flexibility to choose a pilgrimage year based on their financial position, family commitments and travel readiness.

The annual Hajj quota available to Pakistan remains subject to allocation by Saudi Arabia, meaning the number of registered applicants may exceed the seats available in an individual year.

The registration process for Hajj 2027–2030 remains open through the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ official online platform.
