RAWALPINDI, Apr 6 — Pakistan and Egypt have commenced a two-week joint military exercise, Thunder-II, focused on counter-terrorism training at the Special Operations School in Cherat, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops from Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Egypt’s Special Forces are participating in the exercise, which aims to enhance operational coordination and strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Special Operations School, Cherat, who served as the chief guest.
The exercise is designed to improve professional skills through joint training and facilitate the exchange of operational experience, particularly in counter-terrorism operations.

Officials said the training also reflects ongoing efforts to deepen military-to-military ties between Pakistan and Egypt.
