ISLAMABAD: The friendship between Pakistan and China has developed into a comprehensive strategic partnership that is essential to the prosperity, well-being, and peace and stability of not only the peoples of the two nations but the entire region, as stated by Senate Leader Mohammad Ishaq Dar during a conversation with Chinese Ambassador H.E. Jiang Zaidong.
On Ambassador Jiang’s invitation, Senator Ishaq Dar visited the Chinese Embassy and shared his opinions. The two parties deliberated and investigated multiple pathways, particularly those accessible to both nations in Pakistan, to augment the current economic and geopolitical collaboration.
Senator Dar expressed gratitude to China for its unwavering support of Pakistan in times of crisis and natural disasters, as well as on many other fronts. Senator Dar expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral cooperation between the two nations, but also noted that there was great room for improvement, particularly in areas like commerce, investment, agriculture, information technology, and finance.
Senator Dar’s expressions of warmth and friendliness toward the Chinese people and the government were enthusiastically returned by Ambassador Jiang. He agreed that the iron bond between Pakistan and China was crucial for maintaining peace, stability, and mutual prosperity both within and outside of the region. Additionally, he remembered and expressed gratitude for Senator Dar’s efforts to strengthen and expand multi-stratum collaboration during his tenure as Pakistan’s Finance Minister. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to collaborating closely with Pakistan and the incoming administration following the general elections in February 2024 in order to boost mutually beneficial projects, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which aims to foster inclusive and shared growth in the area.
