RAWALPINDI: Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations, regional security and matters of mutual interest.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan-Canada ties and enhancing cooperation on shared security challenges.
Focus on Regional Peace and Security
During the meeting, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir presented Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and collaborative efforts to address common security concerns.
The discussions also covered issues of mutual interest and the broader regional security environment.
Canada Appreciates Pakistan’s Counterterrorism Efforts
According to the ISPR, Anita Anand acknowledged Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and appreciated the country’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding engagement in defence and security cooperation.
