RAWALPINDI, June 18, 2026: Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Ghana, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
According to ISPR, the visiting dignitary was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defence cooperation.
Pakistan and Ghana resolved to strengthen military-to-military relations, with a particular focus on joint training, counter-terrorism cooperation and defence production.
The Ghanaian defence chief appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their role in regional stability.
Later, Abdul Razak Osman, National Security Coordinator of the Republic of Ghana, called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.
Lieutenant General William Agyapong was also present during the meetings.
