GLASGOW: Pakistani boxer Qudratullah, who represented Pakistan at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, has reportedly gone missing in Glasgow after failing to return home with the national boxing team. The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) has confirmed his disappearance and said the matter is under investigation.
According to sources, Qudratullah disappeared approximately six hours before the team’s scheduled departure from Scotland. The squad was due to assemble in the hotel lobby at 9 a.m., but when officials went to his room, he was no longer there.
Boxer Reportedly Left Hotel Before Departure
Sources said Qudratullah was last seen in his hotel room around 2 a.m. before his disappearance. By the morning, there was no sign of him.
His passport and return airline ticket were reportedly in the custody of the team manager, making the circumstances of his disappearance unclear. The Pakistan Boxing Federation has confirmed the incident and said inquiries are underway to establish what happened.
Not the First Such Incident
This is not the first time a member of Pakistan’s Commonwealth Games boxing contingent has gone missing overseas.
During the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England, two Pakistani boxers also reportedly left the team and failed to return with the national contingent. The latest incident has renewed concerns about athlete disappearances during international sporting events.
Authorities have not yet announced whether Qudratullah has been located, and no official explanation for his disappearance has been released.
