RAWALPINDI, July 30, 2026: Pakistan and Belarus discussed expanding military cooperation in joint training, exercises, defence technology and industrial partnerships during a meeting between senior defence officials in Islamabad on Thursday.

A high-level Belarusian defence delegation, led by Major General Muraveiko Pavel Nikolayevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister, met Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.

The two sides reviewed regional security, bilateral defence ties and opportunities for closer military collaboration.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force’s commitment to strengthening defence relations with Belarus.

He said cooperation could be expanded through joint training programmes, military exercises, technological collaboration and partnerships in defence production.

The Belarusian military chief praised the Pakistan Air Force’s operational preparedness, technological development and efforts to increase self-reliance.

He also conveyed Belarus’s willingness to further broaden bilateral defence cooperation.

The meeting reflected Islamabad and Minsk’s interest in deepening military engagement and developing practical cooperation in areas of shared strategic interest.
