CM Sindh Lauds Ethiopian Airlines as Key Instrument of Look Africa & Engage Africa Policies

H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of Ethiopia, called on H.E. Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, in Karachi on Tuesday. Their meeting highlighted the growing strength of Pakistan-Africa relations, especially through aviation and trade.

Both leaders discussed expanding cooperation in investment, tourism, culture, and climate change. They also explored fresh opportunities in agriculture, agro-processing, education, and health to further boost Pakistan-Africa relations.

The Ambassador praised the Chief Minister’s recent initiative to host a Green Dialogue with a high-level Ethiopian delegation. He said this platform is essential for joint action against climate change.

He also briefed the Chief Minister on preparations in Addis Ababa to host Pakistan’s Single Country Exhibition this October, which will attract a large number of delegates. Stressing connectivity, he underscored that Ethiopian Airlines plays a vital role in deepening Pakistan-Africa relations under the Look Africa and Engage Africa policies.

CM Sindh called Ethiopian Airlines a “game-changer,” noting its key contribution in building stronger Pakistan-Africa ties. He also commended Ambassador Abdula’s efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and pledged to raise the relationship to new heights.

Mr. Ibrahim Khalid Tawab, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi, was also present at the meeting.
