PAF fighter jets provide air escort to Indonesian president as he enters Pakistani airspace

Islamabad: Fighter aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force provided a ceremonial air escort to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as his aircraft entered Pakistani airspace on Monday.

PAF deploys six JF-17 aircraft for ceremonial escort

According to an official statement, a six-ship formation of JF-17 Thunder aircraft conducted the escort as part of standard diplomatic protocol for visiting foreign heads of state. The aircraft accompanied the Indonesian president’s flight during its entry into Pakistan.

Escort carried out under established state visit procedures

The escort was conducted in line with Pakistan’s established procedures for receiving visiting dignitaries by air. Such escorts are provided on select state visits as part of aviation and security coordination.

JF-17 aircraft used in the escort mission

The aircraft used by PAF for the escort were JF-17 Thunder jets, which are operational multi-role combat aircraft in service with the Pakistan Air Force. No operational or security details of the visit were disclosed.

Visit marks continuation of Pakistan–Indonesia diplomatic engagement

The arrival of the Indonesian president forms part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Indonesia. Official meetings and schedule details are expected to be announced separately by the relevant authorities.
