KARACHI, August 5: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) observed Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir at its headquarters in Karachi and airports across the country, reaffirming solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
As part of the observance, the national flags of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir were displayed at the PAA Headquarters in Karachi, while airports nationwide organized awareness activities highlighting the significance of the day.
Awareness campaign launched at airports
According to the PAA, documentaries and awareness videos portraying the plight, resilience, and aspirations of the people of IIOJK are being screened on digital display screens and television monitors at airports.
Airport terminals have also been decorated with awareness banners, standees, digital streamers, and informational material to educate passengers and visitors about Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir and Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people.
One-minute silence observed
The Airports Authority said public announcements were made across airports to inform travelers about the significance of the day.
Airport employees also observed a one-minute silence in solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The nationwide observance formed part of the Pakistan Airports Authority’s activities to commemorate Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir and raise awareness among passengers and airport staff.
