Overloaded Boat Rescued Near Tarbela Lake; 130 Passengers Saved in Timely Operation by Haripur Administration

Haripur: The District Administration Haripur received information that a boat carrying around 80 people, including women and children, was stranded near Chandni Point in Tarbela Lake. As soon as the information was received, on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner Haripur, the Assistant Commissioner Haripur along with the Rescue 1122 team reached the spot on an emergency basis and transferred some passengers to the rescue boat to reduce the extra load and safely take the boats to the shore. There were 130 passengers on board the boat, which is much more than its capacity of 70 and is a violation of safety protocols. After completing the rescue operation, food and drinks were provided to the passengers and the police have been directed to arrest the boatman and other involved associates and initiate legal action against them. The operation was supervised by Assistant Commissioner Haripur Muhammad Hamza Abbas. The district administration, Rescue 1122, police and revenue staff participated in the operation and all the passengers were rescued safely.
