ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Omar Ayub on Friday called for the immediate release of party founder Imran Khan, other leaders and workers from jail.
He told the media that his party’s stance on negotiations with the government was clear as it had conveyed its demands for the release of PTI leaders and a judicial inquiry into the May 9 and November 26 incidents.
He stressed that party leaders should have access to Imran Khan, who has been detained in Adiala jail for months.
He said the PTI founder was illegally detained in baseless cases. He stressed that there will continue to be insecurity in the country until the rule of law and the constitution is established.
“Imran Khan stands for the supremacy of the constitution and law,” he added.
Ayub also hit out at the government’s claims of progress in the country, saying that there are gas and electricity cuts during the winter season.
