DASU: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday assured strict security measures for Chinese nationals working in the Dasu hydroelectric project and across the country and assured that the perpetrators of the March 26 incident will be punished accordingly.
Addressing a meeting of Chinese engineers and workers, he said that the government will ensure that the perpetrators and perpetrators learn from the incident of March 26, which will serve as a lesson and that no one can commit such evil acts in the future.
The Prime Minister said that the sole purpose of his visit was to express his deep and sincere condolences and sympathy to the Chinese relatives in Dasu regarding the tragic incident on March 26 in which five Chinese and one local were killed.
He said that the killing of innocent Chinese and Pakistanis by terrorists was cowardice for no reason other than to destroy and damage the friendship between Pakistan and China.
Federal Minister Amir Muqam, Attaullah Tarar, Chairman General WAPDA (former) Sajjad Ghani, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, members of Chinese companies and senior officials attended the event.
“The enemy did not take the opportunity to damage and intervene between the two ironclads,” he said.
Prime Minister Sharif said they shared a time of sadness and grief and said the government would leave no stone unturned and spare no effort to ensure the best security measures for the families and citizens of China.
He also assured the Chinese leaders, the people and the Chinese ambassador that all reasonable security measures will be taken for Chinese people working with and supporting a prosperous and developing Pakistan.
On the same day, he informed that a joint investigation team has also been formed and its report should be submitted anytime.
He also assured that they will waste no time in implementing the recommendations of the committee in letter and spirit.
Additionally, a high-level security meeting was held on March 27 to discuss better coordination with provincial authorities on additional security measures.
The Prime Minister said that the Pak-China friendship will move forward along with the enemies of CPEC and this extraordinary relationship will be defeated.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said that the Prime Minister visited the embassy and assured the safety of Chinese citizens.
