LAHORE: Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen has said that there is no ban on transportation of wheat or other prepared items from Punjab to other provinces.
He chaired a meeting where he was informed about the prices of wheat and flour on Thursday.
The Minister informed the Minister for Food Moazam Iqbal Sipra and the officers of Directorate of Food.
Bilal said that the benefit of the reduced prices of wheat and flour in the market must be passed on to the people.
Minister Moazam Sipra said that 37,000 bags of wheat were transported from Punjab to other provinces in eight days.
During the ongoing month, 124 wheat permits were issued from various districts, while 7,763 flour permits were issued from flour mills in Punjab in one month, he added.
Moazzam Iqbal said that 157,844 metric tons of flour was transported to other provinces. Bilal Yaseen made it clear that all possible relief will be given to the people regarding flour prices as directed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz
