SWAT: Niaz Ahmed Khan has been elected as the President of Swat Press Club while Syed Shahabuddin has been elected as the President of Swat Union of Journalists.
Similarly, Muhammad Shafiullah has been elected as the General Secretary of Swat Press Club and Ismat Ali Akhoon Union.
The process of elections of the newly elected cabinet has been completed under the supervision of the Election Committee, District Bar Association Swat President Fahim Naeem, members Hazrat Bilal Mama ji and Salman Yousafzai.
Among the other office bearers of Swat Press Club, Javed Iqbal Mirkhankhel has been elected as the Senior Vice President, Shaukat Ali as the Vice President, Murad Ali as the Deputy General Secretary, Adnan Bacha as the Joint Secretary and Iftikhar Ali as the Finance Secretary.
Similarly, Senior Vice President Umar Farooq, Vice President Waqar Ahmad Swat, Deputy General Secretary Abdullah Shirin, Joint Secretary Muhammad Khaliq Sagar, Finance Secretary Muhammad Zubair Khan have been elected to the Cabinet of Swat Union of Journalists.
Senior journalists Fazal Rahim Khan, Ghafoor Khan Adil, Shahzad Alam, Hazrat Ali Bacha, and Muhammad Hayat Chaman have been elected to the members of governing body.
A formal oath-taking ceremony was held on this occasion. Fahim Naeem Advocate, President of District Bar Association Swat, administered the oath to the newly elected cabinet members.
Speaking on the occasion, the newly elected Chairman Swat Press Club Niaz Ahmed Khan, President Swat Union of Journalists Syed Shahabuddin, former Chairman Shirinzada, and other officials said that Swat Press Club is a common home for all of us and we will work together for its interests and the welfare of the working journalists.
Former Chairman Shirinzada, former President of the union Hazrat Ali Bacha and General Secretary Fazal Khaliq Khan said on this occasion that they will work side by side with the newly elected cabinet and wherever difficulties arise, they will use their services to solve them.
The ceremony paid tribute to the late Ghulam Farooq Spin Dada, the founding member of the Swat Press Club, for his services and prayed for his forgiveness. Hazrat Bilal Mamaji, while offering the closing prayer, prayed for unity and peace for all the journalists of the Swat Press Club and for peace and order in the country.
