ISLAMABAD: Nayatel has signed a five-year agreement with Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) to provide its locally hosted business email service, Nmail, as Pakistani organizations increasingly look to keep critical data within the country.
Under the agreement, ZTBL will use Nmail, a business email platform powered by Zimbra and hosted on Nayatel Cloud. The move gives the bank a Pakistan-based alternative to global email platforms offered by companies such as Microsoft and Google.
The partnership comes amid growing focus on data localization, cybersecurity and control over institutional information, particularly among banks and other large organizations handling sensitive business communications.
ZTBL Moves to Local Email Hosting
Nayatel said Nmail is designed for organizations seeking secure, reliable and locally hosted email infrastructure.
Sheikh Wajid Mahmood, EVP Sales and Marketing at Nayatel, said the agreement reflected growing confidence in locally developed technology solutions.
“We are proud to partner with ZTBL and to be trusted with something as important as their business email,” he said, adding that Pakistani organizations could rely on local platforms while keeping their data hosted within Pakistan.
The company said Nmail is emerging as an alternative to international enterprise email services, while similar agreements with other organizations are also being developed.
Focus on Data Residency and Enterprise Security
For ZTBL, the agreement marks a shift toward a domestic service provider for business email hosting over the next five years.
The deal also highlights a wider trend among Pakistani institutions seeking greater data residency, operational control and local technical support for digital services.
Nmail is powered by Zimbra and hosted on Nayatel Cloud, with 24-hour technical support, according to the company.
Nayatel provides fiber internet, cloud computing, web and email hosting, digital television and enterprise technology services across Pakistan.
