LAHORE: PML-N Punjab Assembly member Arshad Malik has called for the inclusion of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s image on Pakistan’s 5,000 rupee note.
During a session of the Punjab Assembly, Malik suggested that the currency note should feature Nawaz Sharif alongside Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He stated that Sharif played a pivotal role in leading Pakistan towards economic and infrastructural progress.
The proposal sparked debate in the provincial assembly, highlighting the continued political significance of Sharif within Pakistan’s ruling party circles.
