LAHORE: Pakistani actor and model Momina Iqbal is set to get married on June 1, her family has confirmed, ending days of speculation about her wedding on social media.
Her sister and legal representative, advocate Rimsha Iqbal, said the nikah ceremony will take place with the consent of both families. She identified the groom as Muhammad Hamza Habibi.
The confirmation comes as Momina Iqbal is also pursuing a legal case linked to alleged threats and online harassment. The actor had earlier raised concerns on social media, after which authorities began looking into the matter.
According to Rimsha Iqbal, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has summoned a Punjab MPA in connection with allegations of online harassment and intimidation.
She said the family has submitted relevant evidence to the authorities and that the investigation has shown progress. Rimsha added that the matter is being handled through legal channels.
She also said the family is not seeking unnecessary media attention, but has received support from the public and relevant institutions.
According to her, security has been provided to Momina Iqbal and members of her in-laws’ family due to reported threats.
Rimsha Iqbal expressed hope that the case would reach a fair conclusion soon.
